THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
The Valentia Corretgeria
Step outside The Valentia Corretgeria and Valencia Cathedral is close enough to see its spire from the door, with Plaza de la Reina and La Lonja de la Seda a short walk beyond in the old town. The building itself is historic, completely renovated rather than rebuilt, and holds only 27 individually decorated guestrooms, each fitted with its own kitchen, refrigerator and stovetop included, alongside a memory foam bed and a 43-inch Smart TV with Netflix. That kitchen in every room is the detail most boutique hotels this size skip, and it changes the shape of a stay, less like checking into a hotel, more like borrowing an apartment with hotel service attached. A gym and a library give guests something to do without leaving the building, a conference hall covers anyone folding work into the trip, and there is a pool for warm afternoons, though not a beach. Breakfast is buffet-style and billed separately, an airport transfer can be arranged for a surcharge, and the front desk runs around the clock with multilingual staff on hand. The building has a lift and is wheelchair accessible, including the restaurant. Parking sits off-site, either through the hotel's own garage or public parking nearby at 20 euros a day. Pets are not allowed, which rules it out for anyone travelling with an animal, and the wellness offer is a first aid kit rather than a spa menu, so it isn't the place for a treatment-heavy stay. For a woman who wants a real kitchen, a quiet library corner, and cathedral bells instead of an activities board, the balance is hard to find elsewhere in central Valencia. A restored old-town building near Valencia Cathedral with only 27 rooms, each holding its own kitchen, a rarity among Valencia's boutique hotels. Good for a self-catering stay measured in library mornings and cathedral bells; not for anyone travelling with a pet or chasing a spa.
The rooms are furnished with a queen-size bed and a sofa bed. Complimentary WiFi is provided in all rooms. All rooms are non-smoking.
After a day full of activities, guests can rejuvenate in the on-site gym.
A hearty breakfast is served daily, with children's meals also available on request.
