Hallstatt Hideaway - Adults only
In Hallstatt's UNESCO-listed center, this adult-only hotel has five private suites spread across a structure built on top of two much older houses, of which one suite has original floors and ceilings over 500 years old. Between 2009 and 2014, the owners reconstructed everything while keeping the building honest: 1740 doors, handmade furniture crafted partly from 500-year-old wood, materials that reflect the building's layers of history. The suites are exceptionally large for their era, each designed individually with lake or mountain views. Some have outdoor whirlpools on private terraces, fireplaces, full kitchens or kitchenettes, private libraries. All include iPads, Nespresso machines, bathrobes. The Royal Suite on the top floor offers the most dramatic panorama. A private sauna house called "Lovers Paradise" overlooks the lake. A Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, Sanarium, exclusively for Hideaway guests. The private garden has direct lake access, beach chairs, and views across the water to the mountains. Breakfast can be delivered to your room. Hallstatt is car-free in the center. Parking is a 15-minute walk away with a shuttle that serves multiple hotels, though the Hideaway offers luggage assistance on request. The building climbs up Hallstatt's characteristic steep terrain, so expect steps. Adults-only means no one under 12. The location in the historic center puts you minutes from the market square, funicular to the Salzbergbahn viewpoint, and hiking trails. This isn't a hotel with round-the-clock concierge or on-site restaurant. It's five suites in a house that predates Mozart, run by owners who spent decades bringing it back. The appeal is the building itself, the views, and waking up inside a piece of Austrian history.

Beyond the fireplaces built into each suite, the hideaway keeps a dedicated pine sauna that guests can reserve exclusively for private use. Set with a spacious relaxation area and a view over Lake Hallstatt, it offers a quiet wellness ritual away from the main suites, best paired with a walk down to the lakeside garden.
The hotel offers a variety of services and facilities including a secure baggage storage service, an ATM, a library, laundry service, and a transfer service. You can also enjoy Wi-Fi access in public areas.
The property boasts a supermarket and a gift shop on-site, ensuring you have easy access to your daily necessities and perfect souvenirs.
Unwind in the hotel's open-air garden or explore the surrounding area with the hotel's bicycle rental service.
The hotel provides comfortable rooms, equipped with central heating, a fan, a safe, a refrigerator, and a tea/coffee station. All rooms are non-smoking.
Relax in the outdoor lounge area, take a dip in the hot tub, or engage in various activities such as cycling, mountain biking, fishing, and horseback riding. Skiers will appreciate the availability of ski passes.
Start your day right with a fortifying breakfast served daily, and enjoy refreshing drinks at the beach bar.
