THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Broadwick Soho
Twenty Broadwick Street sits in the middle of Soho, and Broadwick Soho treats that address as the entire point: fifty-seven rooms across eight floors wrap around a ground-floor lounge, The Nook, where a fireplace burns beside a wall of vinyl and a Murano chandelier bought in the Seventies still throws its light until one in the morning. Upstairs, Flute's wraparound terrace opens the whole Soho skyline to anyone with a cocktail in hand, a rooftop view few hotels on these narrow streets can offer. Beefbar at Dear Jackie, the brand's London flagship, serves Wagyu and veal Bolognese under red silk walls, and six of the hotel's rooms are step-free and adapted for mobility needs, with a lift covering the rest. Concierge, dry cleaning, laundry and multi-language staff handle the logistics; luggage storage and 24-hour reception cover the odd hours. This suits a woman who wants Soho Theatre, Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square a ten-minute walk away and doesn't mind the street noise that comes with it, who'd rather drink on a rooftop than retreat to a spa. It won't suit anyone chasing quiet or square footage; even the largest suite here is under 500 square feet, and pets aren't allowed. Check-in is 3pm, checkout noon, and a 150 GBP daily deposit covers damages, details worth knowing before arrival. What Broadwick Soho has that its Soho neighbours mostly don't is that rooftop, and the fact that it never quite lets you forget which city block you're standing on. Broadwick Soho puts fifty-seven rooms and a rooftop terrace with skyline views ten minutes from Piccadilly Circus, with a ground-floor lounge built around a 1970s Murano chandelier and Beefbar's London flagship downstairs. It suits guests who want to be in the middle of Soho, not those seeking quiet or space.
