THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT

Cas Gasi

Ten rooms, a library, and a spa with its own on-site doctor set Cas Gasi apart from the small hotels scattered around Santa Eulalia del Rio, twelve kilometers out on a quieter stretch of road where Ibizkus Winery is close enough for an afternoon visit and Cala Bassa and Cala Comte beaches are within a short drive. The rooms move from a Standard Room through a Standard Family Room, Deluxe Room, Junior Suite, Suite, and a 915-square-foot Deluxe Suite, each with air conditioning, a hairdryer, and a private bathroom, the larger categories adding a safe, a telephone, toiletries, and a television with a mini-bar. A sauna, spa center, fitness center, a pool and an outdoor pool, and a tour desk that books excursions directly rather than pointing to a rack of flyers give the place the rhythm of a private house more than a hotel circuit. Playrooms and a family room account for children, and pets are allowed in designated rooms, for a fee. This suits someone who wants to read in a library, swim twice a day, and treat a doctor on call as a quiet reassurance rather than book a room near the clubs; anyone chasing Ibiza's nightlife from the front door will find the distance frustrating. Check-in runs from 3pm, checkout at noon. One thing worth knowing before booking: Cas Gasi's own website now reads "WE ARE CLOSED," with owner Margaret von Korff explaining that after twenty-five years, Soho House is taking the property forward as Soho Farmhouse. Whatever reopens will not carry this name. Cas Gasi is a ten-room boutique property outside Santa Eulalia del Rio, with a library, two pools, and a spa built around an on-site doctor. It suits quiet, self-driven stays, not nightlife-close ones. Its site now reads "WE ARE CLOSED," ahead of a handover to Soho House as Soho Farmhouse.
