THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Four Seasons Kuwait at Burj Alshaya
Check-in at Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya opens with a request most luxury arrivals don't include: couples sharing a room must produce a marriage certificate, a rule tied to the country the 21-floor tower sits in rather than the brand running it. The hotel is downtown, four kilometres from Kuwait City's centre, and inside those rules it builds a fairly complete world across 248 rooms. Standard doubles run to 495 square feet, and the Four Seasons Executive Double Suite reaches 775. Two pools, one heated and one indoors, sit next to a spa tub, sauna, steam room and gym, though nobody under 18 is allowed into any of them. Dining runs from a restaurant, cafe and bar at ground level up to a rooftop restaurant and lounges, a vantage point over the skyline that sets the property apart from most business-district addresses here. Families get a kids club, playroom, babysitting and highchairs; business travellers get a conference hall, a business centre and staff who work across eight languages including Arabic, French, Russian and Turkish. Halal, gluten-free and vegetarian options are all on the menu. Alcohol is not served anywhere on site, so this isn't the hotel for a couple wanting wine with dinner, and a 50 KWD daily deposit plus a 15 percent service charge on the room rate keep every arrival formal rather than casual. For a Kuwaiti business trip, a family posting, or a stay where the paperwork is already in order, the combination of scale, that rooftop dining room, and genuinely multilingual service is difficult to find elsewhere in the city. Four Seasons Kuwait at Burj Alshaya asks unmarried couples for a marriage certificate at check-in, a sign of where the rules come from. Alcohol isn't served, but 248 rooms, two pools, a kids club and a rooftop restaurant and lounges give business travellers and families plenty to work with downtown.

The State Suite is built for VIP guests, pairing contemporary furniture with a dedicated smart office space across roughly 418 square metres. With two king bedrooms and capacity for up to nine guests, it is arranged for entertaining or extended stays, ranking it among the hotel's most sophisticated specialty suites.
