A conference hall sits alongside a golf course three kilometres out, so this covers a work trip as easily as a weekend away. It will not suit anyone chasing spa facilities or a pool; there is no gym, no wellness centre, just a bar, a restaurant, and rooms with character. What The Feathers has that a chain hotel in Oxford twenty minutes away does not is a genuine two-kitchen setup inside one historic building, formal dining and casual courtyard drinking without changing address. For a market town stopover with dinner sorted twice over, few places manage it this well. A 21-room coaching inn on Woodstock's Market Street with two distinct restaurants, formal dining at The Nest and courtyard pizza at The Aviary. Pets are welcome, breakfast costs extra, and the golf course sits three kilometres away.
