The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort
The St. Regis Bora Bora resort spreads across Motu Ome'e, a private islet on the northeastern side of Bora Bora's lagoon, reached by a 15-minute boat transfer from the airport. That journey is not incidental. It marks the point at which the outside world becomes genuinely difficult to access, and the separation is the amenity. From every overwater villa, Mount Otemanu rises directly across the water, a volcanic peak that turns different colours depending on the light and the hour, and which has a way of making it difficult to leave. This resort has 90 villas, all of them overwater or set along the beach and gardens, individually decorated in native wood, Italian marble, and hand-carved Polynesian sculpture. The overwater villas have glass panels cut into the floor, so the reef life below is part of the room. Most have a private terrace with an outdoor shower and a gazebo dining area above the lagoon, and the suites at the top of the range have their own pools suspended over the water. The resort was renovated in 2024, and it shows. Butler service is available around the clock and taken seriously in the way the St. Regis brand has always built its reputation around. There are four restaurants, including the Lagoon Restaurant, which is set over the water and serves an Asian-French menu with a view of Otemanu that makes it worth arriving early for a drink first. Bam Boo prepares sushi and teppanyaki. Far Niente covers Italian, and the Aparima Bar runs all day. The Iridium Spa occupies its own small private island within the resort, treating the view of Otemanu as part of the experience rather than a backdrop to it. The resort also has its own private lagoonarium, a natural enclosure teeming with rays, turtles, and over 120 species of fish, which is the kind of thing that sounds like a feature and turns out to be the reason people extend their stay. The short version: Bora Bora's benchmark overwater resort, on a private islet with unobstructed views of Mount Otemanu, 90 villas renovated in 2024, a spa on its own island, and the kind of butler service that makes it genuinely hard to think about leaving.

Your taste already has an address

The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort sits close to Matira Beach and Le Meridien Beach, placing guests within reach of two of the island's well-known shoreline stretches. The resort's own grounds include a private beach and gardens, framing a remote, beachfront setting typical of Bora Bora's lagoon-side properties.
