THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Le Bora Bora By Pearl Resorts
The boat from Bora Bora's airport takes about ten minutes, and by the time it reaches Motu Tevairoa, the only lights on the horizon belong to Le Bora Bora By Pearl Resorts itself; no other resort shares the view. That absence of neighbors is rare on a lagoon this famous and sets the hotel apart from the cluster of properties nearer Vaitape village, fifteen minutes away by the same boat. The 107 rooms and villas, spread across a single low-rise footprint, sit tucked into tropical garden, set on the beach, or raised on stilts over the lagoon, built in Polynesian style with open-air living rather than sealed-in comfort. Garden and beach villas with private pools suit families (one configuration sleeps three, with a king bed or twins plus a single), while the overwater suites, some past 1,800 square feet with a king and a queen bed, suit couples who came for the water more than the room. Days run through a private beach, an outdoor pool, snorkelling and diving off the same dock, table tennis and mini golf, and a spa with sauna and massage room for slower afternoons. A conference hall and meeting rooms host business days; a playroom and babysitting free up evenings for the adults. Staff cover seven languages, useful given how far this motu sits from anywhere else. What it does not offer is spontaneity: no walk into town, no drop-in restaurant beyond what is on site, and every excursion starts with a boat. Anyone drawn to Bora Bora for its nightlife or bustle should look toward Vaitape instead. This is a hotel for people who came to disappear. Set on its own coral islet with no other resort in sight, Le Bora Bora By Pearl Resorts pairs overwater suites and garden villas with a private beach and spa. Reaching it takes a ten-minute boat ride, which suits those after quiet more than convenience.
