THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Rammos Managed by Dedeman
Turgutreis sits on the western tip of the Bodrum peninsula, the kind of town where yacht owners from D-Marin and Cordelia Yachting outnumber package tourists, and it is here, on Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard, that Rammos Hotel Bodrum operated independently for years before entering a franchise agreement with Dedeman Hotels and Resorts International, relaunching as Rammos Managed by Dedeman on the 5th of May, 2024. The property runs to 120 rooms, six of them suites, eight set aside as family rooms, the remaining 106 deluxe, arranged across a beachfront plot with direct access to the sea and a clear sightline, on a good day, toward Kos. Dedeman, a Turkish hospitality group with properties from Istanbul to Erbil, brought its operational structure to a hotel that had already built its reputation locally, and the result is run day to day by a Turkish management and front of house team, General Manager Beste among them, who guests return to ask for by name. The food programme leans into the A+ segment Dedeman has said it wants to serve in Turgutreis, with two à la carte restaurants doing the heavy lifting: Rios Steak and Bar for grills and global plates, and Marea Fish Restaurant positioned directly for sunset, built around Aegean seafood and meze. Rooms come with private balconies or terraces, minibars, and the kind of pool or garden views standard to a beach hotel of this scale, while the wellness side runs to a spa with hammam, sauna, fitness centre, and treatment rooms set up for couples. The hotel holds Blue Flag certification for its beach and Three Leaves Sustainability and Zero Waste designations, credentials that matter less for marketing than for the daily housekeeping of a large beachfront property trying not to overrun the coastline it sits on. What it feels like is a competent, well-staffed Aegean beach hotel rather than a design destination, the kind of place where the pleasure is in the routine, breakfast on the terrace, the short walk to the private beach, an early dinner at Marea before the light goes. It suits families with younger children, given the dedicated family rooms and pool areas, and couples on a winter break as much as a summer one, since Dedeman has pushed Rammos toward year-round operation rather than a July and August calendar. Staff turnover and inconsistency show up in reviews here and there, not the kind of seamless service you would expect from a five-star resort, but the warmth from individual staff members, repeatedly and specifically named by returning guests, does most of the work instead. You should not come if you want architectural distinction or a boutique scale property where every detail has been considered by a single design eye, this is a 120-room operation built for volume, weddings, and corporate groups as much as for individual travellers. You should come for a genuinely relaxed beachfront stretch of Turgutreis, two solid restaurants, a private beach that does not require fighting for a sunbed, and a level of personal service from longtime staff that a five-star price tag does not always buy. The short version: A 120-room beachfront hotel in Turgutreis, Bodrum, rebranded under Dedeman in May 2024, with two à la carte restaurants, a private beach, and the relaxed, family-friendly feel of a well-run Aegean resort rather than a design hotel.
