THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Naturhotel Waldklause
Morning here starts with coffee at the window, the town of Langenfeld waking up below while the Ötztal mountains hold the horizon. Naturhotel Waldklause sits right in the centre of the village, close enough to the Freizeit Arena, the SPAR Ennemoser and the Mittelstation ski lift that guests walk rather than drive. Inside, the hotel keeps its promise of wood and natural materials: a 1,800-square-metre NaturSpa with a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, a steam bath, an outdoor pool and a full run of massage and yoga rooms, sized closer to a wellness retreat than the standard hotel spa corner. Skiers get passes and direct access to the slopes in winter; the rest of the year, mini-golf, a fitness room and a library fill the gaps between treatments. The 48 rooms, from Standard through Deluxe to the mountain-view Suite, are built for two, which tells you who this suits: couples and pairs of friends after a few unhurried days, not families needing connecting rooms or groups chasing nightlife. Pets are welcome for a small fee, and staff switch comfortably between English, German, Italian and French. Check-in runs from 2pm, check-out by 11am, with late departure available for 50 euros if the sauna gets the better of the schedule. What sets it apart from other alpine wellness hotels is scale: that NaturSpa footprint is unusually large for a 48-room property, so treatment rooms rarely feel booked solid. Anyone wanting a party town or a rural escape far from shops should look elsewhere; anyone wanting mountains, a proper spa and a walkable centre will find it exactly where it says it is. Naturhotel Waldklause sits in the centre of Langenfeld, a 48-room hotel built around an 1,800-square-metre NaturSpa in the Ötztal mountains. Rooms run from Standard to a mountain-view Suite, all set up for two. Better suited to a couple's spa break than a family ski week.

A panorama outdoor pool forms part of the NaturSpa's wellness offering, set against views of the surrounding Tyrolean mountains. Paired with the indoor pool and sauna world, it lets guests move between water and open air overlooking the Ötztal landscape, reinforcing the hotel's rhythm-of-nature approach to relaxation.
