The Junior Suite runs to 388 square feet, the Deluxe King Room to 301, both scaled for a couple who wants space to spread out rather than a corridor-sized box. What sets the hotel apart from most hotels in central Paris is simple: it has a real, planted garden and a rooftop bar in the same building, so a morning at the street-side café can end with drinks among greenery above the rooftops by night. Below ground, the spa run with Holidermie sticks to warm, cold and floating baths, a hammam and an infrared sauna rather than a long menu of treatments, which suits a traveller who wants results, not a brochure. The restaurant's Caesar-style lobster salad, beef fillet in pepper sauce and truffle pasta are built for people with somewhere to be rather than an evening to fill. Business travellers get a 45-square-metre meeting room for up to fifteen; families get babysitting and rooms that sleep up to six; pet owners pay 30 euros a stay to bring them along, and everyone leaves a 150-euro daily deposit at check-in. It will not suit anyone hunting a landmark view or a formal, hushed lobby. It suits someone who wants a real garden in the middle of Paris and does not need it explained to them.
