THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Briqueterie Hostellerie & Spa, Champagne
The Briqueterie Hostellerie & Spa sits on four hectares of vineyard and rose garden outside Vinay, a building that started life in 1973 as a brick factory before Relais & Chateaux turned it into a forty-room country house. Every room keeps its own colour scheme and its own view of the vines, and because the whole property runs on a single floor, there's no lift shuffle between breakfast and the pool. Epernay is ten minutes away, Reims half an hour, and the grounds back onto the Coteaux Champenois vines that made the region a UNESCO site, so a walk before lunch counts as sightseeing. The spa runs to a sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor pools, and a treatment built for two: a Small Hands massage where a parent and a child aged four to twelve share the same treatment room, the parent required to stay through the session. Pets travel for thirty euros a stay, and the kitchen keeps a vegetarian menu alongside the restaurant and bar. Staff switch between English, French, German, Italian and Turkish without missing a step, and reception runs around the clock. This suits a couple who want vineyard views without driving distance from good food, or a family who'd rather not choose between a spa morning and time with the kids. It won't suit anyone chasing a city skyline or nightlife on the doorstep; the outlook here is vineyard and garden, not streets. What sets it apart is that single-floor layout paired with a genuinely shared spa ritual, rare in a region where wellness usually means solitude. A forty-room country house on four hectares of Champagne vineyard, built from a 1973 brick factory and run entirely on one floor. Epernay is ten minutes away and the spa's Small Hands massage lets parent and child book the same treatment room. It suits vineyard-seekers more than skyline-chasers.

Founded in 1973 on the site of a former bricks factory, Hostellerie Briqueterie has been renovated with restraint to retain the feel of an elegant country house. Bordered by vineyards, rose gardens and four hectares of grounds in the Coteaux Champenois, the historic building offers a quiet retreat just minutes from Epernay, the capital of Champagne wine.
A spa center with sauna, steam room and massage treatments is on site.
Both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool are available to guests.
