THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Aristi Mountain Resort Hotel and Spa
The private dining terrace at Aristi Mountain Resort and Spa looks straight at the eastern wall of Vikos Gorge and the Astraka peak, no editing required. That view sets the tone for a resort of just eighteen rooms spread across a single floor in the village of Aristi, deep in Zagori's UNESCO-listed mountains of northern Greece. Built in 2010 and run under Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the property has picked up two MICHELIN Keys in the 2025 guide and, before that, six wins as World's Leading Eco-Lodge at the World Travel Awards. Its own farm, with a glass greenhouse, a stone oven and an organic vegetable garden, supplies the Salvia restaurant, so the winter spinach and summer tomatoes on the plate were grown a short walk from the kitchen. Days can run toward hiking, horse riding, fishing or bike rental from the grounds, or further out toward rafting on the Voidomatis, canyoning and birdwatching for the Golden Eagle, arranged through the resort's partnership with Trekking Hellas. Inside, there's a heated and an indoor pool, a spa with a doctor on call, a bridal suite for those marrying against the gorge, and family rooms for those travelling with children, with an extra bed running twenty euros a night. What it doesn't offer is anywhere close by to walk to after dinner and no city buzz. Reception asks guests arriving after midnight to call ahead. Someone chasing nightlife or a full-service urban base should look elsewhere; someone wanting a kitchen, a gorge and eighteen rooms between them and the next hotel will find little competition here. Aristi Mountain Resort and Spa fits eighteen rooms on one floor beside Vikos Gorge, holding two MICHELIN Keys and six World's Leading Eco-Lodge titles. Its own farm feeds the Salvia restaurant, and hiking, horse riding and rafting are on offer nearby. It suits quiet mornings, not city nights.

A doctor is on call and the spa includes a heated pool, indoor pool and spa tub.
