Muckross Road runs from The Victoria's garden straight into Killarney National Park, close enough that guests walk or cycle in before lunch and return to a drink where deer and cattle sometimes wander into view. It suits a couple or a solo traveller who wants the National Park as a next-door neighbour and dinner within walking distance, not a large group wanting resort-style leisure facilities on site.
