THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
The Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes Resort
Eleven lakes and a working farm sit inside the 500 acres that surround this Ritz-Carlton, a scale most Orlando resorts near the theme parks do not carry. The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes opened in 2003 with 582 rooms across 15 floors, ten minutes by car from the Orange County Convention Center and Universal Orlando Resort, and within reach of Disney Springs and SeaWorld without sitting inside either. Rooms carry down comforters, private balconies, and minibars, with bathrooms split into separate tub and shower. Seven restaurants and bars work through the property, including Knife and Spoon for American cooking, a poolside bar, and 24-hour room service, with an on-site farm behind the farm-to-table menus. Days can run toward the spa for a massage, sauna, or steam room, the golf course, or the outdoor tennis courts, and children have a dedicated Ritz Kids program, a playroom, and babysitting on request. Fishing across the eleven lakes, mountain biking, and a falconry program add to the grounds-based activities. Pets travel with a $250 per-stay deposit, and a $100 daily damage deposit applies at check-in. This suits travelers who want land to roam and a kitchen with its own farm behind it: families spacing out a week of parks, golfers, couples booking the spa for a few quiet mornings. It will read as too far out for anyone wanting to walk to dinner in the city, sixteen kilometers away, or anyone who wants their hotel to feel small. The farm is the detail competitors do not have. Eleven lakes and a working farm spread across 500 acres, ten minutes from Universal Orlando. It suits golfers, families running Ritz Kids and the pool deck, and couples booking spa mornings, not anyone wanting a walkable stay in the city center sixteen kilometers away.
An on-site championship golf course is available to guests
Pets are welcome at the resort
Concierge and tour-assistance desk services help guests plan excursions
A kids club and playroom keep younger guests entertained
