THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
The Dupont Circle Hotel
In the Dupont Circle neighborhood, within walking distance of the Blaine Mansion, The Dupont Circle Hotel holds 327 rooms across nine floors above a lobby that still runs a full concierge desk. It is the only U.S. address in the Doyle Collection, a small group whose other seven hotels sit in Dublin, London, Cork and Bristol, and it holds a MICHELIN Key, awarded, in the guide's own words, for having its own character and personality. Rooms run from a compact 194-square-foot Classic Double to a 614-square-foot Standard King Suite with a private balcony, and the 475-square-foot Standard Single Suite with Terrace sits between the two for guests who want outdoor space without booking the largest room. Downstairs, The Pembroke handles dinner and drinks, 24-hour room service covers the rest, and a garden and terrace give the outdoor pool and spa tub some quiet company. There is a gym, a sauna, a massage room, a doctor on call, and 10,000 square feet of meeting space across six rooms for anyone mixing work into the stay. Staff switch between English, Spanish, Italian and French, the building is wheelchair accessible throughout, and a dog travels for a flat 100 dollars. Check-in runs from 4pm, check-out is noon, and the 100-dollar nightly damage deposit is worth knowing before arrival. None of this suits a traveler chasing sprawling grounds or a full resort pool day, since the garden here is closer to a courtyard than an estate. For someone who wants a walkable Washington base, an actual restaurant rather than a grab-and-go counter, and a suite with its own door outside, it earns its keep. The Dupont Circle Hotel is the Doyle Collection's only U.S. property, holding a MICHELIN Key and 327 rooms across nine floors in Washington's Dupont Circle neighborhood. Suites run from 194 to 614 square feet, some with private balconies, and dogs stay for a flat 100 dollars.
