THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Six Senses Ninh Van Bay
The boat engine cuts before the jetty, the last stretch of a journey that starts twenty-two kilometres out of Ninh Hoa and ends where a white sand beach meets a freshwater stream running down from the hills behind it. Six Senses Ninh Van Bay opened in 2004 with just 58 rooms, spread across three settings: along the beachfront, tucked into the hillside, or set among the rock formations that shape this stretch of coast. That is the detail few comparable resorts on this coastline can claim, accommodation built directly into the boulders rather than simply overlooking them. Days here run toward the water: diving, windsurfing, sailing and snorkelling off a private beach, with a fitness centre, gym and library for the hours spent on land. The spa runs to a sauna, steam room and massage rooms, and a resident doctor is on call, worth knowing given how far this property sits from anywhere else. GSTC certification backs the sustainability claims rather than simply stating them. A queen villa runs to 1,701 square feet with a full double bed and its own bathroom, generous by any resort's measure. None of this comes cheap or casual: a compulsory gala dinner adds 347 dollars per guest to every stay, and reaching the property means paying for transfer, 52 dollars one way by boat, or 64 for a car and boat combined. Divers and couples looking to disappear will feel at home. Anyone wanting a beach within walking distance of a town, or resenting a mandatory dinner charge, should look elsewhere. Getting here takes commitment. Staying here is the reward for it. Six Senses Ninh Van Bay's final approach is by boat, its 58 rooms built into the beachfront, hillside and rock formations since 2004. Divers and couples craving isolation will feel at home, but the compulsory 347-dollar gala dinner won't suit casual diners.

Beyond the beach, guests can take to the water for windsurfing, sailing or diving to explore the coral and marine life along Ninh Van Bay. The bay's calm, clear waters and rocky coves make it a favored spot for more active guests looking to combine adventure with the resort's secluded surroundings.
On-site dining includes a restaurant, a bar and a snack bar.
