What to Know Before You Go
Busy Bees
The rooftop hosts Buckfast honeybee hives surrounded by Hebes, Heleniums, cornflowers, lavender, thyme, and marjoram. You can't visit the hives, but the honey appears in Lobby Bar cocktails (try the Bee's Knees) and occasionally at breakfast.
Charlie's Chocolate Dream
The hotel hosts an official Charlie and the Chocolate Factory afternoon tea —snozzberry jam, fizzy lifting drinks, cotton candy. Served Wednesday to Friday 12pm-3pm, weekends and holidays 12pm-4pm. Make sure to book ahead!
Winter Magic
Somerset House is a two-minute walk. In winter, their ice rink runs mid-November through January. Book early morning sessions before 10am when the courtyard is still relatively peaceful and the ice is freshly maintained.
