THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
The Princess Royal
The Princess Royal occupies a Victorian pub on peaceful Hereford Road in Notting Hill, imagine original mosaic flooring and a horseshoe bar. Four rooms, named Diana, Alexandra, Lillibet, and Margaret, blend Rapture & Wright wallpapers, Robert Kime antiques, and Lefroy Brooks bathrooms with bold patterns and plush comfort. Chef Ben Tish's Mediterranean menu draws from Southern Italy, Spain, and North Africa—fennel biscuits with whipped 'nduja, pizzette fritte with truffle honey, flat-iron fiorentina, Amalfi lemon and olive-oil cake. The raw bar serves oysters with spicy chorizo, crab with chilli and lemon, and red prawns in rosemary and orange. The walled garden terrace flows stright into a light-filled conservatory. This is the place to be Notting Hill locals and travelers who want a neighborhood pub with serious food, Cotswolds warmth, and easy access to Portobello Road, Westbourne Grove boutiques, and Kensington Gardens.
