What to Know Before You Go
Slope-side start
For skiing, Wasserngrat is closest to the hotel and has the Tiger Run, the steepest slope in the area. Glacier 3000 is worth the trip for advanced skiers, it's the only glacier in the Bernese Oberland and has views of Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.
Around the village
The village of Lauenen is worth visiting for cross-country skiing and has a nature reserve. Charly's on the Promenade does the best hot chocolate in town. Spoil yourself with a slice of raspberry tart after skiing.
