What sets Aliée apart from other Istanbul waterfront hotels is the option to take over the entire Casthouse, six chambres and three suites behind a single private entrance, with a dedicated butler and a private boat and captain on call. That suits a group wanting the building to itself, or two people marking something specific; it will read as too much ceremony for anyone after an anonymous room and a fast exit. The setting leans historic rather than stripped-back modern, which will not suit every taste. Staff work across six languages, pets are welcome, and halal, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free requests are handled without fuss. Three kilometres from the city centre, close to Chora Church, it rewards guests willing to arrive by water rather than by road, and to spend an evening at Pink Bar or Mondaine de Pariso instead of heading out.
