THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Alpin Resort Sacher
At 1,200 metres on Tyrol's Seefeld plateau, Alpin Resort Sacher sits inside a 20,000 square metre park, close enough to the village that the walk in doesn't require a car but far enough that the loudest sound most evenings is the sauna door. This is the alpine outpost of the Sacher family, the Viennese name behind the Sacher-Torte, and the kitchen carries two Gault&Millau toques for cooking that goes well beyond the famous cake. What sets it apart from the other alpine lodges nearby is the Academy For Better Aging, a longevity programme with medical supervision built into the stay rather than bolted on as a spa menu item. The wellness side runs to 4,700 square metres, with a natural swimming pond alongside the indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, and a steam room. Skiers get their own transfer and passes, with the Geigenbühellift a short ride away; in the warmer months there's golf, tennis, and horse riding on the doorstep. With only 81 rooms across three floors, and suites running from single rooms up to a family suite, this suits couples and solo travellers after a quiet, medically-minded reset more than it suits a group looking for a lively hotel bar scene, though the casino and library give the evenings somewhere to go. Families are looked after too, with babysitting on request and family rooms available. Pets travel for a small fee. It won't suit anyone chasing a party atmosphere or a big, anonymous resort footprint; the appeal here is the opposite, a small, well-run house with a famous name attached to a genuinely serious health programme, in a setting most hotels can only photograph from a distance. An 81-room alpine hideaway on Tyrol's Seefeld plateau, run by the family behind the Sacher-Torte, pairs two-toque cooking with a medically supervised longevity programme and a 4,700 square metre spa. It suits a quiet stay more than a lively group trip, with skiing, golf, and a casino all nearby.

Described by the hotel itself as a quiet, discreet and exclusive hideaway, the resort holds just 81 rooms and suites full of alpine charm, perched at 1,200 metres above sea level. The intimate scale keeps the atmosphere personal, letting guests enjoy Sacher-level service without a large-hotel feel.
