Marienplatz fills the window here: the Rathaus glockenspiel is a few floors below, and Old Town Hall and St. Peter's Church are a short walk away. Beyond by Geisel sits directly on that square, and with only 19 rooms and suites it runs closer to a private house than a hotel. The family behind Geisel Privathotels built it around a two-story living room and wine lounge, library included, so guests feel like they are staying with friends rather than checking into a hotel. Rooms come with air conditioning, minibar, safe, bathrobe and blackout blinds as standard, and the concierge, laundry, dry-cleaning and airport transfer handle the rest without fuss. There is a bar and restaurant on site, breakfast each morning, and free Wi-Fi throughout. Parking exists but costs 45 EUR a day nearby, better suited to guests arriving on foot or by taxi than by car. Two things set it apart from the international names circling Marienplatz: the option to book the entire house exclusively, which the hotel does for weddings and private events with a two-night minimum, and a run of four industry awards collected in 2024 and 2025 that point to a boutique managed by people who live in Munich rather than a chain running it from elsewhere. It is not built for families: children are not permitted to stay, and whoever checks in must be 18 or over. Pets are not allowed either. Anyone travelling for a concert, a theatre night, or a wedding with a short guest list will find the location and the scale doing exactly what they came for. Adults-only, no pets, better suited to couples and concertgoers than families with children.
