THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort
Agios Yiannis beach curves below the whitewashed, cube-shaped buildings of Mykonos Grand, and across the strait sits Delos, the small uninhabited island that Greek myth names as Apollo's birthplace. That sightline runs straight through the Nama restaurant and several of the suites, so it's there over breakfast and again at dinner. The hotel spreads 93 rooms across five acres and only three floors, a scale that leaves space between buildings instead of stacking guests on top of each other, and a handful of suites keep their own private pool. It belongs to Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and its own private beach, an adults-only pool, and the Althea Spa Retreat, where treatments lean on old Greek techniques around a semi-caved Thalasso pool, are built for people who came to be still rather than seen. There's a 24-hour gym and a tennis court for anyone who can't sit that still, and a beachfront chapel for guests who want to marry with the Aegean as a backdrop. A shuttle runs into Mykonos Town each evening between seven and eleven, which suits anyone happy to base themselves by the water and visit town after dark rather than stay in the middle of it. Pets aren't permitted, and anyone chasing the island's cheapest bed is looking in the wrong postcode. What Mykonos Grand has that most addresses on this coast don't is that direct view across to Delos, a piece of the island's oldest story kept in sight of every meal. Mykonos Grand faces Delos, the island myth calls Apollo's birthplace, a view built into its restaurant and several suites. Ninety-three rooms sit across five acres, some with private pools, plus a private beach and the Althea Spa. It isn't for anyone wanting Mykonos Town on foot.

The Mykonos Grand Villa is the resort's most secluded accommodation, set on its own footprint with a west-facing rooftop terrace for sunset views, an outdoor heated private pool, an open-air jet tub, two indoor fireplaces and an in-villa gym, giving families or groups a fully self-contained retreat within the wider resort.
