THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Aman-i-khas
At Aman-i-Khas, evenings settle around a barbecue grill in the garden while the outdoor pool holds the last warmth of the day, and by morning the spa is already booked by guests back from Ranthambore National Park, where entry and safari passes run an extra seventy-five dollars each before tax. The camp holds only eleven rooms, all on one level, which is the detail that separates it from most luxury properties nearby: nobody here disappears into a crowd, and by the second day the staff at the twenty-four-hour reception know your name along with your safari schedule. Rooms are tents in the literal sense, a full double bed and a shared bathroom, a television that feels almost beside the point given what's outside the canvas. Guests arriving by car find parking on site or transfers arranged directly, and a currency exchange desk, security guard, and wheelchair access are all on hand. A conference hall exists for business needs, though most who come here spend their time hiking, by the pool, or waiting for the next drive. Laundry, dry-cleaning, and concierge service are available, and check-in from 2pm folds neatly around whatever time the safari jeep gets back. This suits people who want proximity to Ranthambore more than they want space to roam a resort, who don't mind a shared bathroom in exchange for a camp this small. It does not suit anyone wanting multiple restaurants, sprawling grounds, or a hotel that feels like a hotel rather than a camp ten kilometres from Sawai Madhopur, close to the park and far from crowds. Eleven tents outside Ranthambore National Park, built for people who prioritize the safari over the size of the resort. Safari passes cost extra, bathrooms are shared, and by the second day the staff already know your schedule. It does not suit anyone chasing space or a crowd to disappear into.

THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT

Your taste already has an address

The camp's swimming pool takes its design cues from Rajasthan's ancient step-wells, a piece of local architectural heritage reimagined for guests to cool off between safaris. It sits within the camp's earth-toned, Mughal-inspired grounds, framed by the surrounding forest that borders Ranthambore National Park.
