THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Jashita Hotel
Soliman Bay is calmer than the open coast that runs through central Tulum, a curve of protected water where the reef breaks the swell before it reaches the sand, and Jashita sits right on that curve, thirty rooms spread across three low floors, twelve kilometres from town and a world away from its noise. This is a Relais & Châteaux property, a membership that most hotels along this stretch of coast do not hold, and it shows in details rather than declarations: an oceanfront spa built around Mayan ritual, snorkel gear and paddle boards left out for guests to use without asking, a beachfront restaurant, Pandano, that folds Mexican and Italian traditions into food made from what grows locally. The bay itself is the real draw. Guests swim, snorkel, dive and fish here without leaving the shoreline, but not with children: this is an adults-only address, no one under eighteen, and stag or hen parties are turned away at booking. That rules out family holidays and rowdy weekends alike, and leaves room for the couples and solo divers who actually want quiet. Rooms run large by Tulum standards, the smaller ocean-view suite alone measures 420 square feet, with air conditioning against the humidity, mosquito netting, and a private bathroom stocked with proper toiletries rather than the usual travel-size bottles. Wi-fi reaches the grounds, a gym and yoga space cover the mornings, and the front desk arranges everything from boat tours to the Tulum ruins to late checkout without much fuss. It closes its gates to noise on purpose. That is the entire point. Jashita is a 30-room Relais & Châteaux hotel on Tulum's calmer Soliman Bay, adults-only and closed to stag or hen parties. Expect a beachfront spa, Pandano's Mexican-Italian kitchen, and free snorkel gear for the reef outside your door. It suits couples and divers, not families or crowds.
