THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Beaverbrook Town House
Sloane Street mornings start with the click of heels toward Harrods, and Beaverbrook Town House is the last stop before the shopping bags take over: two restored Georgian townhouses turned into 14 suites, each named for a London theatre and dressed with vintage posters and bespoke stories from the stage they honour. It suits someone who wants a hotel with an argument, not just amenities, who would rather sleep in a room called Drury Lane or The Palladium than one with a number, and who treats a meal at The Fuji Grill or a seat at Sir Frank's Bar as part of the itinerary rather than an afterthought. It is not the address for anyone who wants a hotel large enough to get lost in, or a dog underfoot, since pets are not permitted here. What no comparable Chelsea address offers is this: fourteen suites, each built around a different London theatre's history, moments from Sloane Square and Cadogan Gardens, where guests get exclusive access to the garden square's tennis courts and its rare 300-year-old mulberry trees, access other visitors do not have. The Butterfly Room on the lower ground floor handles meetings and private dinners for up to sixteen guests, useful for anyone folding work into the trip. Breakfast is available, laundry and dry-cleaning are handled without a second request, and massage treatments run on advance booking rather than walk-ins. It reads less like a hotel and more like a well-cast production, one where the room number matters less than which theatre lent it a plot. Fourteen suites in two Georgian townhouses on Sloane Street, each named after a London theatre with its own vintage-poster backstory. It suits guests who want a hotel with a plot, not just a postcode, and grants access to Cadogan Gardens' tennis courts and centuries-old mulberry trees other visitors cannot reach.
