THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Bottleworks Hotel
The Club Room at Bottleworks Hotel still has the original safe from when this building bottled Coca-Cola for Indianapolis, the kind of detail that makes a business dinner briefly stop being a business dinner. The hotel occupies the restored Coca-Cola Bottling Company building in the Bottleworks District, within walking distance of downtown and of IndyFringe Theatre and Theatre on the Square. It opened in 2020 with 139 rooms and earned a AAA Four Diamond rating within its first year, along with recognition as a Michelin Key property, a pairing few hotels of this size can claim. Rooms carry minibars, safes, blackout blinds and slippers as standard, with a few offering private terraces and others built for accessibility, including a Standard King Suite with a full double bed. Downstairs, Modita serves Asian-inspired dishes alongside sushi and robata, Blue Collar Coffee Co. pours espresso from Wisconsin-roasted beans, and the spa runs a steam room next to a fitness center. Meetings and weddings take place in rooms with actual history, the Samuelson Room and the James and Lee Boardrooms named for the brothers who once ran the bottling company from those same offices. Parking is on site, and dogs are welcome for a deposit. This suits someone who wants a hotel that argues for itself through architecture rather than a pool deck, and who doesn't mind a downtown address over a resort one. It will do less for a family wanting wide-open grounds or an all-inclusive rhythm. What Bottleworks has that its neighbors don't is the building itself, a piece of Indianapolis industrial history nobody had to invent. Bottleworks Hotel is a 139-room hotel built into the former Coca-Cola Bottling Company complex in Indianapolis, a few minutes from downtown and recognized as a Michelin Key property. It suits travelers who want history and design over a pool deck, less so families chasing wide-open resort grounds.
