THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Lennox Hotel Miami Beach
Behind the Lennox Hotel Miami Beach's original 1930s facade on Collins Avenue, a moss-carpeted courtyard opens onto a pool where afternoons run toward sushi and cocktails rather than towel-chasing. Argentinian designer Juan Ciavarella built the interiors around that contrast, setting handcrafted wooden furniture and greenery against the Art Deco bones of the SoBe Deco District, a short walk from the Bass Museum of Art and the Miami Beach Convention Center. The hotel keeps to 119 rooms as part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and backs that intimacy with a private beach reached by hotel shuttle, complete with loungers and parasols, on top of its own pool and spa tub back at the courtyard. Rooms carry blackout blinds, soundproofing, a minibar and bathrobes as standard, and the Poolside King Room adds its own terrace onto the courtyard. A gym, diving club, tennis court and billiards room cover the active hours, staff fluent in Spanish, Italian, French, Arabic and Turkish handle everything else, and babysitting is on hand for parents who want a quiet dinner in the restaurant. None of it comes bundled: breakfast runs USD 20 to 30 per person, valet parking is USD 45 a day, and a USD 100 daily deposit is taken by bank transfer on arrival. That makes this a fit for travelers who want a design address with a real history over an all-inclusive resort, and less so for anyone counting on breakfast or parking being folded into the room rate. What lingers is the courtyard, moss and greenery underfoot in a city built on concrete and glass. The Lennox Hotel Miami Beach pairs its 1930s Art Deco shell with Juan Ciavarella's interiors and a moss-carpeted courtyard pool near the Convention Center. A hotel shuttle runs to its own private beach, loungers and parasols included. Breakfast, valet parking and the arrival deposit are charged separately.
