THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Bulgari Hotel Milan
Behind a garden in central Milan, near La Scala and the Brera galleries, Bulgari Hotel Milan holds just 58 rooms across five floors, opened in 2004 under the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts name. The garden itself is the real point of difference, rare in this part of the city center, and several suites, including the Premium Suites overlooking the adjoining Botanical Gardens, look onto it rather than a courtyard wall or a row of parked cars. Rooms are individually decorated rather than built to one template, with minibars and plasma televisions as standard, and the Deluxe rooms add black granite bathtubs and travertine showers. Downstairs there is an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and spa alongside a gym, and a restaurant, cafe and bar that cover a full day without a step outside, though the better use of the location is the short walk to La Scala, Poldi Pezzoli or the Pinacoteca di Brera. Pets are welcome, a detail worth knowing either way. The fine print carries real numbers too: parking runs 50 euros a day, an airport transfer 180 euros one way, and breakfast is billed separately at roughly 35 to 40 euros a person. This suits a couple or a solo traveler who wants Milan's historic center without noise, and who values a garden over a view of other buildings; anyone chasing spectacle, or watching every euro, should look elsewhere. What lingers is the garden itself, glimpsed from a suite window or a bathtub, proof that quiet in central Milan can be built rather than found.\n\nA garden rarely found this close to La Scala, 58 individually decorated rooms, and a full spa with an indoor pool set Bulgari Hotel Milan apart in central Milan. It suits travelers who want quiet over spectacle; extras like breakfast and airport transfer are billed separately and add up fast.

Il Giardino is the hotel's private garden, a rare green space in central Milan around which the property is arranged and which also lends its name to a dining and events venue. Several room and suite categories, including Superior and Deluxe Garden View suites, look directly onto this garden, offering a quiet retreat near Milan's fashion district.
