THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Terra Rosa Country House & Vineyards
Terra Rosa Country House & Vineyards occupies Quinta de Codeçosa, a Minho estate first recorded in 1758, reached along an avenue of cypress trees that cuts through fifty of its seventy hectares of vineyard before the manor buildings appear. The seven rooms are set inside Casa do Lúpulo, a schist house once used for drying hops; its heavy iron chimney was kept rather than removed, and each room takes its name from an architectural detail of the farm rather than a marketing term. Three of the seven are suites with a separate sitting room, and breakfast is included throughout. Francisco Rosa and his daughter Eliana began converting the working farm into this stay in 2017, and their hand shows in a curated store where the furniture, linens and handicraft pieces guests use during their stay are also for sale, a detail few country properties in the region offer. A bar, restaurant, spa, picnic area, laundry, dry cleaning and concierge cover the practical side, and parking and wifi are included for anyone arriving by car, the more likely route given the 11 km distance into Ponte de Lima's center, past Palacio dos Biscainhos and the Archbishop's Palace. This suits travellers who want vineyard quiet over walkable nightlife; it will frustrate anyone wanting a beach walk, a large hotel's anonymity, or a room count that survives a fully booked weekend. Check-in runs from 4pm, checkout by noon, and an extra bed costs 35 euros a night. What stays with you is the chimney: a working farm's industrial past, left standing in the middle of a guest room. Seven rooms inside a converted hop-drying house, three of them suites, sit at the center of a family-run vineyard estate near Ponte de Lima. Breakfast is included, and the furniture in your room is also for sale in the curated store. Good for quiet over nightlife, not for last-minute weekends.

Your taste already has an address

A visit to Terra Rosa begins along an elegant avenue lined with cypress trees, leading guests through the estate's carefully ordered vineyards. The Quinta de Codeçosa dates back to 1758 and spans seventy hectares, fifty of which are planted with vines. The approach sets the tone for a property built around its rural, wine-growing landscape in Portugal's Minho region.
