On Galip Dede Caddesi, the street that climbs toward Galata Tower, a restored 1893 apartment building holds World House Boutique Hotel: fifteen rooms across four floors, each keeping its original wood floors, exposed brick and high ceilings rather than sanding them into something generic. Interior designer Onur Yilmaz built around the shell, adding bespoke furniture and handcrafted lighting, so the rooms read more like a private flat than a hotel chain's version of one. Every room carries a minibar, an in-room safe and free Wi-Fi, with layouts running from a Standard Double up to a two-bedroom Sea View residence and a Suite Room with Terrace facing the tower. Downstairs there is a garden, a library, and WH Coffee Co., the hotel's own coffee shop, a rarity among boutique hotels this size. The 24-hour desk handles transfers, tour assistance and dry-cleaning in English or Russian, and dogs are welcome against a one-time deposit. What the hotel does not have is a lift: four floors, stairs only, worth knowing for anyone travelling with a bad knee, a stroller or heavy suitcases. It suits someone who wants to step straight out into Galata's designer shops and gallery windows rather than wait for a shuttle, and who would rather have coffee downstairs in the 1893 building than in a lobby built last year. It is less suited to anyone who needs step-free access throughout their stay. Registered with Turkiye's Culture and Tourism Ministry, the hotel operates as a small, considered alternative to the standardised boutique properties multiplying around it, and from its upper floor windows, guests look straight across at Galata Tower, the reason most of them booked here in the first place. Fifteen rooms in a restored 1893 Galata building, each with original wood floors and exposed brick, designed by Onur Yilmaz rather than a chain template. No lift for the four floors, but there's an in-house coffee shop, a garden and library, with Galata Tower visible from the upper windows.
