The hotel occupies Block A of UpperHills in Futian, perched high above the district, five minutes by car from Huaqiangbei and eight from Dongmen Pedestrian Street, close to both without sitting inside either. Among the 178 rooms, even the compact categories carry minibars, flat-screen televisions, separate bathtubs and showers, designer toiletries and a proper desk, while a Deluxe King Suite runs past 1,200 square feet, space enough to unpack rather than live out of a case. Downstairs there are eight restaurants and a coffee shop, from Chef Fei's Chinese kitchen at The Bay to evenings at LIAN Lounge, and self-serve breakfast runs from 6:30 to 10:30 each morning for a fee. The 1,500-square-metre wellness floor pairs spa treatments with a 24-hour gym and a pool open from 6:30 in the morning, and with over 2,000 square metres of meeting space and ten function rooms, this reads as much like a corporate address as a leisure one. Pets are not permitted, and this hotel suits someone who wants Shenzhen at a five to eight-minute remove rather than one who wants to step directly into Huaqiangbei's or Dongmen's street life. For a woman who wants a real desk during the day and a view with no elbow room required at night, the 79th floor makes the case on its own. MO Bar sits 79 floors up, and even the compact rooms get a separate tub, a proper desk and toiletries chosen with care. Five minutes from Huaqiangbei and eight from Dongmen, it suits a desk-and-view business trip more than a street-level wander, and dogs are not welcome.
