Desa Hay Bali keeps to six villas on a single floor in Tumbak Bayuh, a few minutes from Echo Beach, Canggu Beach and Batu Bolong Beach. Behind a hand-carved door, most rooms open onto a private plunge pool set in a jungle garden bounded by stone walls, so six rooms feel like six separate retreats rather than a small hotel stacked into corridors. What sets it apart from other boutique stays on this stretch of coast is the infrastructure behind the calm: 105 solar panels produce a large share of its power, water is returned to the water table through dedicated recharge wells, and 30 to 40 percent of the land was deliberately left unbuilt. It earned SLH's Resort Hotel of the Year in 2025 and a Considerate Hotel of the Year title in 2023, recognition that tracks with what guests notice on the ground rather than what a brochure claims. Ijo, the on-site restaurant, serves tapas-style dishes built largely from local ingredients for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Built on a Solar-Powered ESG Blueprint
Desa Hay runs on a documented ESG framework, generating a large share of its power from 105 solar panels producing roughly 4,500 kWh a month, alongside solar hot water. The resort also sponsors recharge wells to return water to the table and treats all water on site so it remains drinkable, reporting transparently on its footprint.
