THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
InterContinental Bangkok Hotel
Step off the Chidlom BTS platform and you're inside the lobby within minutes, no traffic, no need to check the rain radar, because a private walkway carries guests straight into Gaysorn Village and back out toward Erawan Shrine without ever touching the pavement outside. InterContinental Bangkok has stood on this corner of Ratchaprasong since 2003, its 381 rooms stacked across 37 floors, and a full reimagining in 2023 replaced the generic gloss with something more specific: rooms carry the motif of traditional floating flowers through the artwork, tufted rugs, and Thai silk embroidered bedheads, so even the compact Classic Double at 484 square feet feels considered rather than templated. The address sits inside what the hotel calls one of Bangkok's preeminent business and commercial areas, and events here can draw on complimentary parking for up to 800 cars alongside the on-site business center and meeting facilities. Families expand into the 721-square-foot Junior Suite or the 1,076-square-foot Ambassador Suite; guests chasing lounge access take a Club Premium King up to Level 37, where the panoramic Club InterContinental serves breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails with the city laid out below. There's an outdoor pool, a separate indoor one, a spa with sauna and steam room, and a doctor on call 24 hours, which matters more than any polish for anyone travelling alone. It has held a Michelin Guide Key rating two years running and was named one of the Best Hotels in Southeast Asia at the 2024 Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards. It doesn't suit anyone bringing a pet, or anyone hoping for a resort hush; this is downtown Bangkok with the elevator doors opening onto a shopping mall. InterContinental Bangkok connects straight into the Skytrain and Gaysorn Village from its Ratchaprasong lobby, no need to step outside. Rooms carry Thai silk and floating-flower motifs after a 2023 refresh, and the hotel has held a Michelin Guide Key rating two years running. Not for anyone travelling with a pet.

Spanning 100 square metres, the Ambassador Suite pairs a private king bedroom and separate study with club lounge benefits. Its bathroom includes a jacuzzi bath, rain shower and double vanities, while a walk-thru wardrobe and separate living room with guest bathroom add space for relaxing or entertaining.
