THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Erth Abu Dhabi
Erth Abu Dhabi sits about 13 kilometres from the city centre, close enough to Khalifa Park and Mushrif Mall for an afternoon out, and within reach of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Wahat Al Karama memorial, the two stops most guests build a day around. The hotel is built on Emirati heritage, from its brand mark down to the room finishes, which gives the public spaces a specificity that generic luxury hotels in the same price bracket don't bother with. It holds 294 rooms across four floors, each fitted with a minibar, bathrobe, safe and television. What sets it apart from most competitors in the city is the wellness floor: a hammam, sauna and steam room sit alongside the spa and massage rooms, and swimming means a choice of indoor pool, outdoor pool or private beach rather than the usual single option. Sport is well covered too, with tennis, squash, badminton, table tennis and a bowling alley on site, useful for a family or a group staying more than a night or two. Business guests get a business centre and conference hall with presentation equipment; parents get a kids club, a children's pool and babysitting. The property holds Green Key certification, worth knowing for anyone weighing sustainability alongside comfort. It suits travellers who want a full resort spread of pools, spa and sport without a beachfront address, and who don't mind a short run into the centre for everything else. Anyone hoping to step straight out into the old city on foot should look elsewhere, since downtown sits a proper drive away. Check-in starts at 3pm, check-out is at noon, and the desk covers English and Russian. Erth Abu Dhabi pairs Emirati heritage design with a wellness floor few rivals match, a hammam, sauna and steam room, plus indoor pool, outdoor pool and private beach, 13 kilometres from downtown. Good for a full resort stay; not for anyone wanting to walk into the old city.

THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT

Your taste already has an address

Erth began in 1997 as the Armed Forces Officers Club, a private retreat Sheikh Zayed first envisioned in 1983 for the UAE's military officers on this 75-hectare stretch southeast of the city. It only opened its gates to the public in 2003, and didn't take the name 'Erth' — Arabic for legacy — until the 2021 reinvention.
Two oasis-shaped swimming pools are available for guests to cool off in.
24-hour laundry service is offered to guests.
A full spa offers hammam, sauna and steam room treatments.
A fitness center and gym are available on site.
Concierge services assist guests throughout their stay.
A kids' playroom is available for younger guests.
