THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. Kyoto (not sure same as hotel above)
Ring the bell. After 10pm the main entrance at Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. locks, and guests arriving later are asked to notify the hotel in advance; staff, on duty around the clock, step out to let them in. That's the texture of this 23-room hotel, built in 2020, sitting about two kilometers from central Kyoto within walking distance of Nishihonganji Temple, Shijō and Kyoto Aquarium. It has a spa and a massage room, which is more wellness infrastructure than its size would suggest, plus a restaurant, a concierge desk, free WiFi, and self-parking alongside an airport shuttle, a rare pairing for a property this small and this close to the city center. Rooms run from Standard King and Standard Queen to Deluxe King, Luxury, and a Japanese-style option, each with a private bathroom and the usual air conditioning, safe, hair dryer, and refrigerator; breakfast is not bundled into every rate, and when it isn't, an extra plate runs 3,300 JPY a person. One flag worth knowing: the Double Economy room type has no hot spring bath, so travelers chasing that specific ritual should book a different category. This suits someone who wants a compact, newly built base with real spa amenities and doesn't mind a quieter, after-hours entry routine; it suits less the traveler who wants a 24-hour lobby buzzing with people or a sprawling resort footprint. What Tsubaki St. has that most 23-room hotels don't is a genuine spa and massage program built into a property this size, in a neighborhood close enough to walk to three different landmarks before breakfast. It's a small hotel that doesn't act like one. A 23-room hotel built in 2020 near Kyoto's Nishihonganji Temple, with a spa, massage room, and an entrance that locks at 10pm, ring the bell and staff let you in. It suits travelers who want a compact, well-equipped base over a sprawling resort.

Your taste already has an address

The HANA room, one of the ryokan's flower-themed deluxe rooms, pairs a first-floor bedroom with a king bed against a second-floor tatami area where a futon can be added for a third guest. A semi open-air bath opens directly off the bedroom, giving the room its own private bathing space inside the historic machiya structure.
The sports and entertainment facilities at the hotel ensure that guests have plenty of activities to choose from during their stay. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. A wellness area with massage treatments is available at the hotel. Copyright GIATA 2004 - 2026. Multilingual, powered by www.giata.com for client no. 703681
