Petramare SPA is split the same deliberate way, an indoor circuit of heated pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath and cold well, and an outdoor stretch built around an infinity pool, a Kneipp path and a panoramic solarium, with a head spa treatment added for anyone who has spent the day driving the coast road. Divers and snorkellers have a club on site, hikers can start on trails straight from the door, and the concierge arranges the rest: boats, food, culture. None of this suits anyone chasing a rambling historic palazzo or a resort spread across several floors; here, one floor and 37 rooms is the entire footprint, and it is deliberate. Pets stay for a fee, the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, and check-in opens at 3pm. It is a small hotel behaving like it has something to prove, and mostly succeeding.
