THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Villa Arcadio Hotel & Resort
Villa Arcadio occupies a restored monastery on a hillside above Salò, surrounded by olive groves that have stood for centuries, with the terrace looking out toward Lake Garda. It keeps to 18 rooms across three floors, a scale that lets it do something larger resorts on the lake cannot: couples can reserve the entire villa, every room included, for a minimum of two nights and turn the whole property, restaurant, bar, gardens and pool, into their own private wedding, hosting up to around 80 guests without another guest in sight. Outside of wedding weeks, the pace is unhurried. There's an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, a sauna and massage room, a library, a yoga area and bike rental for exploring the hills, plus a restaurant built around local, seasonal cooking rather than a standard buffet. Rooms range from Classic doubles overlooking the courtyard to Deluxe rooms facing the garden, most with air conditioning, minibar, bathrobe and slippers, though exact configurations vary by category. Staff speak English, German and Italian, and pets are welcome, which says something about the informality behind the polished surface. This suits a couple wanting a villa wedding that unfolds over days rather than one evening, or a traveller who wants a real garden and a quiet terrace over a city-centre address; the resort sits two kilometres from Salò, close enough to walk in for dinner, far enough to still feel like its own private garden. It won't suit anyone wanting nightlife on site, a large conference crowd, or a hotel with a kids' club. Free parking and free Wi-Fi cover the basics. What lingers afterward is the quiet, the kind a bigger resort can't fake. A restored monastery above Lake Garda where couples can take over all 18 rooms, the restaurant and the gardens for a wedding that unfolds over days, not one evening. Outside wedding season: an indoor and outdoor pool, a library, and Italian cooking built on local ingredients.

The resort's restaurant serves original recipes created by the in-house chef, combining creativity with local Lake Garda ingredients. Guests can enjoy seasonal, regionally inspired dishes in a setting the property describes as offering unique local food and wine specialties throughout the stay.
Guests can access free Wi-Fi in all public areas of the hotel.
The hotel offers a tour desk service for those keen to discover Salo's hidden gems.
Villa Arcadio is designed for everyone, with facilities for disabled guests and wheelchair-accessible rooms.
Unwind in the hotel's lush garden, a perfect spot for leisure and relaxation.
Additional amenities include a TV room and a library for book lovers.
