Walk through the entrance arch at Borgo Egnazia and you land in La Corte, the courtyard built entirely from tufo, the pale limestone quarried near Fasano and cut by hand by local tufo masters, under architect Pino Brescia, who modelled the resort on Puglia's farms and rural villages rather than on any resort blueprint. The 184 rooms spread across only two floors and three distinct zones, La Corte, Il Borgo and Le Case, so nothing here feels stacked or corridor-bound; it sits five kilometres from Fasano's centre, near Port'Alga and the Grotta Stampagnata caves, with a private beach and a run of pools, indoor, outdoor and heated. What sets it apart from the other Puglian masserie chasing the same rustic-luxury look is the Casa delle Sementi, a working seed house where agronomist Angelo Giordano recovers ancient, out-of-market Apulian vegetable varieties and feeds them into the kitchens of Due Camini, whose Michelin star ran from 2019 to 2024, and Le Carrube's farm-to-table menu. Golfers get a full course, divers and sailors get their own facilities, and there's a kids club and playroom for families, though from June through September and over Easter the La Corte pools and restaurants shift to guests over twelve, pushing families with younger children into the Borgo area instead. That split is unusual and it works: couples booking peak season get genuine quiet by the water, while families get their own patch without feeling exiled. Anyone wanting the anonymity of a big international chain, or a quick city-break base, should look elsewhere; this is built for people planning to stay put and eat well for a week. Borgo Egnazia is built entirely from hand-cut tufo and centred on its own seed-saving house, Casa delle Sementi, feeding Due Camini and Le Carrube; its 184 rooms split into La Corte, Il Borgo and Le Case. In peak season La Corte pools turn adults-only, moving families to the Borgo instead.
