This is not the choice for anyone wanting to walk into a lively town after dinner: the center is 5 kilometres off, reached by the resort's own shuttle or a paid airport transfer at 150 euros one way. Families are looked after too, with babysitting on offer and rooms built for up to four adults and three children. What lingers afterwards is not the pool count or the spa menu but the walk back from the beach at dusk, garden on one side, the rest of the archipelago catching the last light on the other. On Vulcano's private beach and garden theme park, Therasia Resort pairs an infinity pool and full spa with a suite that has its own hydromassage terrace pool over the archipelago. It suits divers, hikers and couples after quiet, not anyone wanting a lively town within walking distance.
