THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach
Thirty-eight floors above Waikiki, thirty of this Ritz-Carlton's 307 rooms come with something most beachfront towers skip: a full-sized refrigerator, freezer, and oven, not a mini-fridge and a kettle pretending to be one. That detail decides who should book here. A family staying two weeks, a chef on sabbatical, or a couple who cooks on vacation will use it properly, while a guest who wants a valet to handle every meal decision may find the extra square footage beside the point. Built in 2016 and carrying the Ritz-Carlton name, the property is a fifteen-minute walk from the Royal Hawaiian Center and the sand at Waikiki Beach, with Honolulu Zoo just over a mile off and Ala Moana Center a little further. Rooms carry Egyptian cotton sheets, queen sofa beds, smart TVs with premium channels, and bathrooms with separate deep soaking tubs and showers. Three restaurants and two bars handle eating and drinking without leaving the building, a coffee shop covers snacks, and round-the-clock room service fills in the gaps; breakfast runs seven to noon for a fee. The spa offers massages, the outdoor pool and 24-hour fitness center take care of the rest of the recreation, and a business center, limo service, concierge desk, and gift shop keep the practical side of a stay covered. Pets are welcome for 250 dollars a stay, and a 200 dollar daily deposit is taken at check-in, both worth knowing before you book. Check-in is at four in the afternoon, check-out at noon. None of this is quiet or understated. It is a residence tower built for people who plan to actually live in the room, not just sleep in it. Thirty of its 307 rooms come with a full-sized oven, fridge, and freezer, rare for Waikiki. It sits a fifteen-minute walk from the beach and the Royal Hawaiian Center, with three restaurants and a spa covering the rest. Better for a long stay than a one-night stopover.
On-site shopping options include a supermarket and a souvenir shop, perfect for grabbing essentials and keepsakes.
The hotel grounds feature a playground for children and a beautiful garden for leisurely walks.
Guests can enjoy additional amenities such as a TV room, a playroom, and complimentary newspapers for a comfortable stay.
Rooms are fitted with a kitchenette, washing machine, and WiFi, ensuring a home-away-from-home experience.
Indulge in a wellness journey at the hotel's spa, sauna, or with a relaxing massage treatment.
