The spa is built for people who actually use spas, with treatment rooms in open-air hales and ingredients drawn from the landscape immediately around it. Four Seasons Hualalai is, in the end, a resort that rewards the kind of traveller who wants everything done beautifully and without fuss, and who would rather spend a morning snorkelling in a volcanic pond than planning the day around transfers and reservations. It is also where you stay on the Big Island when the island itself is very much what you are after.
