Hotel Petrus
At Hotel Petrus in Brunico, the plates on the table were shaped by hand by the sisters who run the place, and the vegetables on them come from Lechnerhof, the family's own farm nearby. Brigitte, Christina and Daniela run the 45-room hotel with their parents, Gerti and Hans, two generations and a team of 44 people, at the foot of the Kronplatz ski area, where the cable car sits roughly 500 metres from the door. Skiers who want to be geared up and on the lift within minutes will find the ski-in/ski-out access, ski storage, ski passes and ski shuttle useful; parents get a playroom and a children's pool to occupy the kids while the fitness room, sauna or steam room sees to the adults. What separates Petrus from the ski-hotel crowd is its kitchen and its dining room: the Kaminstube restaurant carries three toques from Gault Millau, and the hotel's own Petrus.Restaurant won a German Design Award in 2025, an unusual pairing of culinary and design recognition for a family-run mountain address. Beyond the restaurants sits a 25-metre pool, a solarium and the dohòame spa, built around wood, wool and local herbs. Rooms spread across three floors, from standard doubles with city views to suites with balconies, most fitted with safes, fridges and private bathrooms. This is not a hotel for travelers who want central Brunico on foot; it sits three kilometres outside town, built for the mountain rather than the piazza. Anyone who wants anonymity at check-in should look elsewhere, since the sisters at the desk aim to make return guests feel remembered. Everyone else gets a serious kitchen, a proper pool and a chairlift at the door. Hotel Petrus is a 45-room, family-run address in Brunico, 500 metres from the Kronplatz cable car, with a three-toque Gault Millau kitchen, a 25-metre pool and full ski-in/ski-out access. It suits skiers and food-focused travelers more than anyone wanting central Brunico on foot.

A 25-metre pool is one of the hotel's signature features, described on the property's own site as simply 'Our pool'. It sits alongside the wider wellness area that includes a sauna, steam room and spa tub, giving guests a longer swim option than a typical hotel pool while remaining part of the family-run Petrus's relaxation offering.
