Casa Clàt occupies a nineteenth-century palazzo on Viale Regina Margherita, in the center of Cagliari, close enough to the Bastion of Saint Remy, Cagliari City Hall and the Torre dell'Elefante to reach on foot after dinner. The building holds just nine suites across four floors, each one designed differently, with murals, custom furnishings and details drawn from Sardinia, so no two stays here look the same. What sets Casa Clàt apart from other boutique addresses in the city is Il Torrino: a rooftop terrace reached by an internal lift and then an iron staircase, opening onto a 360-degree view over Cagliari's rooftops. Downstairs, the old stable has become La Cantina, a wine cellar and event space, while the restaurant serves a Mediterranean menu with occasional oriental touches under old barrel vaults, and the bar-bistrot runs from breakfast through to late-night cocktails. There's a garden, a picnic area, a swimming pool and a spa, plus a garage for guests arriving by car and free Wi-Fi throughout. Rooms range from 377 to 646 square feet, and some suites come with a private jacuzzi or garden view. This suits travelers who want a central, design-led base for exploring the city or the south of the island, and who don't mind a small property where the restaurant and bar double as the social hub. It's less suited to anyone wanting a large resort with a full-scale spa program or dozens of room categories to choose from. Pets travel for an additional 30 EUR per stay, check-in runs from 3pm and check-out is at 11am. The Torrino terrace, though, is the reason to book a top-floor suite here rather than elsewhere in Cagliari.
