THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Park Hotel ai Cappuccini
Before it took guests, this building took vows: a Capuchin monastery raised in the 17th century, restored into a 92-room hotel that belongs to Small Luxury Hotels of the World, its cloisters and gardens still surrounding a working chapel just off the lobby. That chapel, listed plainly among the hotel's amenities, is not something you find at any comparable address in Gubbio or beyond. The spa work goes further than most hotel wellness menus too: a day spa built around Marc Mességué's own method, with a sauna, steam room, solarium, massage rooms and a doctor on call, plus an indoor pool and a heated outdoor one for anyone who'd rather swim than book a treatment. The setting does two things at once, secluded inside its own park yet a walk from Gubbio's medieval centre and the Etruscan Well, so an evening out doesn't require a taxi. Families get a playroom, a children's pool, babysitting on request; couples get soundproofed Superior and Deluxe doubles with blackout blinds and bathrobes; anyone travelling for work gets a conference hall and meeting rooms that fill the same corridors with a different, briefcase-carrying crowd by day. A small dog under five kilos travels too, for a ten-euro deposit. None of it suits someone who wants her hotel inside the noise of the piazza rather than a short walk from it. What lingers isn't the spa list. It's sleeping in a room built for silence, in a building that has kept that promise for four centuries. A 17th-century Capuchin monastery outside Gubbio's walls, now a 92-room Small Luxury Hotels of the World hotel with its own chapel, a Marc Mességué spa, and two pools. Suits families, couples wanting quiet, and small dogs. Not the choice for anyone who wants to stay inside the piazza's noise.

Set within its own park, the hotel maintains a landscaped water garden area called Parco Acque along with a separate roof garden space. These grounds let guests wander among greenery and water features surrounding the historic monastery building, offering a quiet outdoor retreat close to the restaurant and spa facilities.
A full spa offers sauna, steam room, solarium and massage treatments.
Both indoor and outdoor swimming pools are available.
Babysitting and childcare, plus a children's playroom, are offered.
Bicycle storage and bike rental are provided on site.
Pets under 5 kg are permitted for an additional fee.
