Beyond the vines, the resort arranges diving, snorkelling, cycling and fishing trips through local partners who know these volcanic waters. Rooms carry air conditioning, minibars and Wi-Fi, the property is wheelchair accessible with a working elevator, and staff speak English, French and Italian; pets are welcome for a small fee. Salina itself, the Aeolians' green pearl, runs on quiet rather than nightlife, so this suits someone who wants a working vineyard and a real lighthouse over a resort dressed up as one, not a traveller after a buzzing lobby or a long list of bars.
