THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Hotel Petra Segreta Resort & Spa
In the hills above San Pantaleo, fifteen kilometres inland from Olbia, Petra Segreta Resort & Spa is built low and quiet among boulders that have stood on this hillside for thousands of years. The resort holds just 23 rooms across a single floor, several with their own heated pool tucked into a private garden, and the whole place runs on an adults-only policy that keeps things unhurried. What sets it apart from other resorts on the island is Il Fuoco Sacro, its own restaurant, awarded a star in the 2026 Michelin Guide under chef Alessandro Menditto and owner Luigi Bergeretto, with menus co-designed alongside Enrico Bartolini; guests after something simpler can eat at Osteria del Mirto or its open-air extension, Terrazza del Mirto. The Secret Stone Spa uses those same ancient rocks as part of its treatments, alongside a sauna, steam room and solarium, and there's a library and an indoor fireplace for anyone who came for stillness rather than sightseeing. Staff speak English, Italian, French, Spanish and Turkish, and a bridal suite among the room types signals who the resort is built for: couples rather than conference groups, though a small business centre and conference hall exist if needed. Families should look elsewhere: the property is adults-only, no exceptions. Pets are welcome for a fifty-euro deposit, and airport transfers can be arranged for eighty euros each way. This is a resort for people who want a Michelin star and near-total quiet within the same low stone walls, nothing more, nothing less. Twenty-three rooms scattered across the hills above San Pantaleo, several with private heated pools, built around boulders that predate the resort by millennia. Il Fuoco Sacro, its in-house restaurant, holds a star in the 2026 Michelin Guide. Adults only, so it suits couples and food-focused travellers more than families.
