Serralunga d'Alba sits in the heart of the Langhe, and Il Boscareto Resort & Spa faces its vineyards head-on: the gourmet dining room and veranda look straight over the vines. The resort holds 49 rooms and suites across four floors, ten of them added in a 2023 expansion that included a deluxe suite and five rooftop junior suites. What sets it apart from other countryside retreats in the region is La Rei Natura, the on-site restaurant carrying three Michelin stars under chef Michelangelo Mammoliti, a rarity for a resort of this size anywhere in Piedmont. Guests who don't want the full tasting-menu experience can eat more casually at Il Sunsì Bistrot with chef Alessandro Capalbo, or at the bar and snack bar. La Sovrana Spa spans two floors: a Finnish sauna, aromatic steam bath, treatment suites and an indoor pool kept at 28 degrees, plus a Technogym gym and an outdoor solarium looking over the vine-covered hills. The resort was built by the Dogliani family in 2009, who also own the neighbouring Batasiolo winery and arrange cellar visits and tastings for guests. Families should note that pool and spa access for children under 14 is restricted to daytime hours with an adult present, and the property closes annually from mid-January to late March, so this isn't a year-round base. Rooms carry minibars, bathrobes and soundproofing as standard, extra beds run 90 euros a night, and small pets under 5kg are welcome for a fee. For a long weekend built around Barolo and a serious kitchen rather than a full activity roster, it delivers on both. Il Boscareto Resort & Spa sits among the vineyards of Serralunga d'Alba, its restaurant La Rei Natura carrying three Michelin stars under chef Michelangelo Mammoliti. Forty-nine rooms, a two-floor spa with a 28-degree pool, and Batasiolo cellar visits round out the stay. It closes from mid-January to late March.

Dine at a Three-Michelin-Star Table
La Rei Natura, the resort's gourmet restaurant, is led by chef Michelangelo Mammoliti and holds three Michelin stars. The dining room and its veranda look out over the surrounding vineyards, forming what the property calls the heart of its haute cuisine, set within the Langhe's UNESCO-listed hills.
La Sovrana Spa's Sala delle Acque
The spa's Sala delle Acque centres on a stone-and-mosaic pool with retractable glass walls opening onto the vineyards, alongside a Finnish sauna, an aromatic hammam, a frigidarium, sensory showers and a Technogym-equipped gym. An outdoor solarium overlooks the vine-covered hills and the Piedmont Alps beyond.
