THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
TIAD, Autograph Collection
All rooms at TIAD, Autograph Collection face Hisaya Odori Park, and the deluxe categories start above 50 square metres, floor-to-ceiling windows pulling the park's greenery straight into the room. That single fact separates it from the usual Nagoya business tower: this is a 150-room, 14-floor hotel built around a park view rather than a skyline afterthought. The all-day restaurant, Table for Tomorrow, has an open-air terrace over the same park, and there is a separate omakase counter, Shuhari, for anyone who wants a chef working in front of them rather than a buffet. Downstairs there is an 18.5-metre heated indoor pool, a real fitness centre, a sauna and a spa where treatments need booking ahead, plus traditional Japanese-style thermal baths. Practical matters are handled without fuss: 24-hour reception, express check-in, concierge, laundry and dry cleaning, currency exchange, and an electric car charging point in a market where that is still rare. Wheelchair access extends to the restaurant, and the property is smoke-free with designated smoking areas elsewhere. A solo business traveller who wants a proper desk and a park to look at while working will do well here; someone chasing a rooftop bar scene or budget rates should look elsewhere, since breakfast and parking both carry separate daily fees. Families are tolerated rather than courted, children under twelve are barred from Shuhari, though they stay free in a parent's room. Check-in is from 3pm, check-out by noon, and a passport copy is mandatory under Japanese law. What lingers after checkout is the terrace over the park at breakfast, quiet, green, and entirely unlike anything else in central Sakae. TIAD sits in Sakae, Nagoya, with every room facing Hisaya Odori Park and dining terraces that look straight into it. Good for travellers who want quiet green space in a business capital, less so for anyone chasing nightlife or a bargain.
